Dr. Willis' current teaching responsibilities include AAEC 3315 (Agricultural Price Theory), AAEC 4313 (Natural Resource Economics, senior level), AAEC 5308 (Natural Resource Economics, masters level), AAEC 6308 (Advanced Natural Resource Economics), and AAEC 6305 Dynamic Economic Optimization. His ongoing research interests involve a nonmarket evaluation of water based recreation resources, development of a comprehensive water policy planning model for the Texas High Plains, modeling the impact climatic change is likely to have on agricultural practices and the playa lake ecosystem of the Texas High Plains, and estimating the net social welfare gains achievable to both negotiating parties when water debts are repaid in terms of water and dollars instead of strictly water in national and/or international water disputes.
