Agricultural and Applied Economics Degree with a  Minor in Agribusiness Management

Minor in Agribusiness Management is offered by the Agricultural and Applied Economics Department for non-departmental students to provide training in economics and business with an agriculture perspective.  The minor requires 18 hours of Agricultural and Applied Economics (AAEC) courses including:

  • Fundamentals of Agricultural and Applied Economics (AAEC 2305)

  • Nine (9) hours from junior (3000) level AAEC courses

  • Six (6) hours from senior (4000) level AAEC courses

A grade of C or better must be earned in each course counted toward the minor.  A student must satisfy all course prerequisites before they will be allowed to register for a course.

Career opportunities are enhanced when an Agribusiness Management minor is combined with a degree in either Animal Science or Plant and Soil Science.  The managerial decision making skills taught in the economics/business courses comprising the Agribusiness Management minor curriculum compliment the science and agricultural science training provided by an Animal Science or Plant and Soil Science degree and enhance career options.  The combined science and economics training will broaden career opportunities in agricultural sales, commodity purchasing and trading, and management of farms, ranches, and agribusiness firms.  Career opportunities available to Animal Science and Plant and Soil Science majors with an Agribusiness Management minor include:

Animal Science Majors

Plant and Soil Science Majors
